The Indulge paintings explore the interaction between the female form and the layers of a sticky substance, which I like to call "webs". This substance sometimes resembles globs of frosting and appears on the model's face or on her body to provide a playful description of a confident woman. The webs also reference a saliva-like consistency which demonstrates my ideas of sexuality as an indulgent and savory experience. This series began as an expression of my issues with negative body image and self-consciousness but during the process has become more about the inevitable sensuousness of seeing a naked woman. This representation of the female body confronts the viewer with domineering seduction and serves as a metaphor for femininity, obsession and lust.
